What to Expect & Fees
FAQs:
Taking the first step into therapy is a deeply personal investment and I want you to be completely clear about how I work. I provide transparent online therapy fees and session info, so you can plan your care with confidence. All of our appointments take place over a secure video link, allowing me to provide professional CBT therapy UK-wide without you ever needing to travel. During our first session, we will chat about your specific goals and, crucially, how you would like to handle your values or faith in our work together - whether that means integrating it fully, keeping it in the background, or leaving it out entirely.
Initially, you can expect to have an assessment session which will take up to 90 minutes. In this assessment, I will ask you about your current experience, your background, and the impact of the problem for you. I will also ask you about your hopes for therapy, and what you are hoping to get out of it. At the end of this appointment, we can have an idea about what we want to focus the treatment on. This is also a good time to get to know each other and for me to answer any questions that you may have.
As we begin therapy, we map out your problem and all the contributing factors. We begin to pay particular attention to your thought processes and start to identify links between those thoughts and your behaviours. Then, depending on the nature of your problem, we then apply different techniques and strategies to enable you to adapt your thoughts and behaviours.
As therapy draws to a close, we will work closely together to enable you to feel as supported and as equipped as possible; so that you can finish therapy confident that you have a number of tools in your toolkit moving forward.

How long is a session?
The initial assessment will take around 90 minutes, but most typical sessions are around 50 minutes in length. However, there are some occasions where we may need to allow for a bit of a longer session; for instance, when working with OCD or PTSD, there are certain interventions that require more time. But, please don’t be put off by this. Some people have conditions or neurodivergence which means that a shorter session is more appropriate. I will work with you to support you – so let’s discuss this at the start of therapy.
Do you work remotely?
Yes, I currently only offer remote video sessions. Face-to-face sessions may be available in the future.
Can you diagnose me?
No. I am not qualified to diagnose you. For a diagnosis of a psychological problem or neurodivergence, you will need to speak with your GP who can refer you on to the relevant professionals for a diagnosis.
Do I need to have a diagnosis to have therapy?
No. Lots of people have symptoms of low mood and anxiety without having an official diagnosis.
